Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Safeguarding Children Board have launched the ‘Lived Experience of the Child (Voice of the Child) Practice Guidance’. This document has been developed with partners to assist practitioner insight, to ensure that the voice of the child is actively heard and where necessary to support effective action to safeguard our children and young people. A number of multi-agency workshops are available for both statutory and non -statutory practitioners who are working with babies, children, young people and their families. The aims and learning outcomes for the workshops include:

For Practitioners to :

  • Explore and understand what we mean by the’ lived experience of the child’
  • Understand what children ‘tell us they need in a practitioner’ from local and national research
  • Discuss child and adolescent development, children’s behaviours and cultural competence
  • Understand and be able to utilise the prerequisite tools for engaging with children young people and their families
  • Be aware of the SCB practitioner guidance and of other resources available for engaging with babies, children and young people

Target Audience

Both Cambridgeshire and Peterborough practitioners

These workshops are FREE for all practitioners who works with children and young people and their families in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire
