Aim & Learning Outcomes:
An Introduction to help practitioners to recognise and respond to the signs and symptoms of child neglect and ensure that the needs of children and young people are assessed in order to prevent long term consequences on their health and welfare.
At the end of the session delegates will have had an opportunity to:
- Be able to recognise and respond to the signs and symptoms of child neglect
- Understand the long-term consequences of neglect on children and young people
- Understand why parents are not always able to meet the basic needs of their children
- Be aware of the tools that are used to assess neglect
This half day course, is at a basic introductory level for those practitioners who have no knowledge of child neglect. (Group 1).
