Aim & Learning Outcomes:
This course will increase professionals’ understanding of their role protecting adults at risk from abuse that can occur or start online, including harassment, grooming, exploitation and scamming. We will discuss harm that can occur, as well as what to look for and how to respond if you think that an adult may be experiencing or putting themselves at risk of online abuse.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Identify several potential sources of harm that exist with use of the internet
- Describe signs someone is experiencing or at risk of experiencing abuse online and what to do when concerned about an adult’s safety online
- Discuss mental capacity and its relevance to online risk taking
- Establish important professional boundaries to protect their own reputation and well-being.
This training is for professionals who have regular contact with adults at risk. Groups 2-4
