Fabricated and Induced Illness is a familiar concept in children’s safeguarding, but less often considered as a type of abuse experienced by Adults at Risk. In this training, we discuss the different forms this may take, indicators of FII in adults, and steps practitioners should take if they are concerned about an adult they work with.

Aims:

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe different presentations of FII in Adults
  • Identify indicators that an adult may be experiencing FII
  • Explain how to respond when concerned that an adult may be experiencing FII
